Wedding Corset Photoshoot

To all my future brides, have you considered wearing a Wedding Corset dress? You’ll get to wear it after the wedding day as they are really versatile. I had the privilege of working with some of my fantastic colleagues in the wedding industry on this amazing Wedding Corset Photoshoot.

With the average UK wedding cost (2015) currently at a staggering £24,714 (source: bridesmagazine.co.uk) couples are beginning to make decisions on where to compromise. Priorities need to be set and value for money is a key factor in deciding what and where to part with the cash.

Now, no potential Groom is going to be foolish enough to contemplate negotiating a compromise on the wedding dress. This is firmly a no go area for most sensible men, but with the average spend on the dress sitting at £1,340 future brides may well be tempted to spend their cash more wisely than on a “wear once only” dress.

By chance, I met Jocelyn of Little Miss Chic (www.lovemychic.co.uk) while browsing through Taurus Craft one afternoon, and we quickly came up with the idea of pulling a wedding corset photoshoot together to demonstrate the versatility of, in this case, her bespoke hand made wedding corsets.

The clothes she designs and make appeal to women who want something different, unique or find it difficult to buy clothes that fit them properly on the high street. Whether it’s your wedding gown, Prom Dress or lingerie Jocelyn makes sure they are made beautifully using exquisite silk fabrics and laces.

What’s more, combining these fantastic creations with the hand made petticoats and skirts produce exquisite wedding dress combinations that can, after the wedding be combined to form a casual or party outfit as well as delivering a stunning and seductive look for you husband in the bedroom.

Jocelyn says: I start with my design sketch and then create the pattern to the individual measurements I have. I then make a Calico Toile, which is fitted on the client. This toile allows for any changes to be made to the design shape and fit. Once we are happy with everything I make the actual corset. I use Steel Bones in all of my corsets. They are mainly spiral but I also use ridged bones if required. The whole process can take several days, from design to finished garment but to actually make a corset once it is cut out usually takes about 2 days the additional bead-work or embellishment can take many more hours.
