Lydney Docks Photoshoot

The Forest of Dean is littered with great locations to hold a pre-wedding or, for that matter, any photoshoot.  Whether it’s rural, urban or historical backdrops the Forest has them all.  This Lydney Docks Photoshoot was done a week after the fantastic hot patch of weather we had and despite it not being cold the threat of rain is obvious to see in the images. Claire and Peter commissioned me to photograph their wedding back in October last year and with only 8 weeks to… Read more…

Romantic Bristol Photoshoot

It was an overcast but pleasant Bristol evening when I met my couple for the first time, to photograph what turned out to be a beautiful Romantic Bristol Photoshoot. Natalie, a lawyer, from Seattle had flown in to be with fiancé and chef, Ean, for a few days over the Bank Holiday weekend and this presented an ideal time to get them together for their pre-wedding shoot. They get married at Clearwell Castle in September but due to the vast distance that they live apart… Read more…

Pre-wedding Equine Shoot

My favourite photographic genres currently are weddings and horses, so when Jess and Brett commissioned me to photograph their wedding I was delighted.  The combination of both genres was irresistible!  With two months to go before the wedding my wife and I travelled up to Newent to photograph their pre-wedding equine shoot. The choice of pre-wedding shoot venue was an easy one for Jess as she keeps her horses, Mika and Shami, at Fairfield Stables, near Newent  in the rolling countryside of Herefordshire.  This spectacular backdrop is next… Read more…

Pre-wedding shoot amongst the Welsh Bluebells.

Leanne and Adam booked me nearly two years ago to photograph their wedding so it was great to meet up with them again after such a long time.  They selected the beautiful Bryngarw Park, near Bridgend, to have their pre-wedding shoot amongst the Welsh bluebells and meandering stream that flows through this spectacular, public area. Please take a look at my slideshow of this Pre-wedding shoot amongst the Welsh Bluebells. Leanne and Adam both work in the fashion industry and so came wonderfully attired in colours that complimented the Welsh Bluebells… Read more…

Equine Photography training morning

I spent a morning with my apprentice (AKA Gill my wife), a very willing model, Vikki, and her horse Diva, going through some of the basics of Equine Photography. Here is a slideshow of a selection of her images from the Equine Photography training morning.

Cannop Pond Pre-wedding shoot

I love photographing my future wedding couples in surroundings that they feel relaxed in.  This is the third Cannop Pond pre-wedding shoot that I have photographed and the beautiful mix of the Forest of Dean backdrop with it’s seasonal bluebells along with the water reflection and pond life surrounding these idyllic lakes makes this one of my favourite rural photo-shoot settings. With many of my wedding photography packages I offer a complimentary pre-wedding shoot.  Locations vary but romance is always in the air and this shoot was no exception…. Read more…

Courtfield Cup – Challenging 7 mile race through Wye Valley

The Courtfield Cup is designed to test rider and horse and will take in 7 miles of stunning countryside along the River Wye and grounds of Courtfield Estate near Goodrich. Harry Wallace and a group of selected riders tested out the ambitious and challenging 7 mile course that has been designed for a field of 40 horses due to run in March 17.  We were lucky enough to be invited to photograph this trial and spend a great day at the family estate situated in the Wye… Read more…

London Equine Photoshoot

On the outskirts of London lies the Hadlow Equestrian Centre. Developed as part of the London 2012 Olympics it now forms part of the colleges Equestrian facilities. Alex, the manager there and her beautiful horse, Delta, were the subjects for this London Equine Photoshoot. Here is a short slideshow of some of the images from this shoot. A wet and windy handfasting farm Wedding

When Clare and Andrew, well Clare really, settled on a Handfasting Farm Wedding and started to do her research they booked a farmers field (Plusterwine Farm) overlooking the Severn Estuary in Gloucestershire. With the venue and style of the wedding firmly identified the next task was to find the perfect photographer to capture their day. They started by typing in Outdoor Weddings into Google and saw a blog of one of my previous farm weddings.  Clare said “When I saw Tony’s shoot on a blog his… Read more…
